Containing a spacious fitness area of more than 4,000 square feet, the Lyden Center accommodates up to 100 people at one time. The area is used by all our competitive teams to implement strength training sessions. Gains in strength, flexibility and stamina help each athlete develop his athletic talent to the fullest as well as help protect him from injury.
In addition, the Lyden Center's 55 weight training and cardiovascular stations are used by physical education classes and are available for individual training, which helps contribute to healthy, lifelong fitness habits.
Professional trainer Dr. Dustin Winkler is a vital asset to the Lyden Center. He works with both individual and groups of students.
The Auxiliary Gymnasium opens up many opportunities. It makes possible an intramural program for more student participation. Winter sports practices are held conveniently without competing with each other for a single basketball floor.
Preseason training for spring sports, always limited by winter weather, also enjoys a suitable indoor space.
The SJJ Wrestling program also utilizes a Renovated Wrestling Room in the Lyden Center, which features a larger space for the Titan wrestlers with improved ventilation and lighting systems.
