Sophomore Wins $5,000 College Scholarship

The Eyes of MarkSophomore Mark Brahier was part of a team of three students who received the top prize in the Promedica Field of Green scholarship competition. Teaming up with Notre Dame Academy students Becca Funke and Alyse Krause, the three focused research on exercises and snack and their impact on health with a vision of helping combat childhood obesity.

Fly Fishing Expo this Friday!

Fly FishingThe St. John's Jesuit High School Fly Fishing Club hosts the Toledo Fly Fishing Expo Friday evening March 5 in the school's Carty Fox Commons and McQuade Theatre.

The evening will have some of the best fly tyers in the Great Lakes Region as well as The University of Michigan's mechanical engineer fly casting specialist, Noel Perkins. Presentations will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

K of C Award Goes to Freshman

ShugarmanChase Shugarman, St. John's Jesuit High School freshman, has been awarded a $1,000 Scholarship by the Knights of Columbus based upon scholastic achievement and Christian service.

Academy Play Is a Hit

It was "Myth Adventures"-the first St. John's Jesuit Academy theatrical production. The five one- act plays based upon Greek classics was based upon Greek statues in a museum coming to life. "They were entertaining one another with stories after the museum lights went out," explained Director Barb Trimble.
