St. John's Jesuit High School & Academy is pleased to announce that Christopher Knight will assume the position of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer effective April 16, 2018. Reporting directly to President Michael Savona '75, Mr. Knight's primary role will be leadership of school vision and strategic planning. In this capacity, Mr. Knight will assume the responsibilities of overseeing the high school administrative leadership team, the academy leadership team, admissions, marketing, and technology.

Mr. Knight brings to St. John's Jesuit a depth of experience and proven leadership in Catholic education that spans more than two decades. Further, Mr. Knight brings extensive experience as a Jesuit administrator. In 2004 he led the team that created St. John's Jesuit Academy and served as its first principal. In this role, he was highly involved in planning all aspects of the program and led the initiative with a high satisfaction level among students and parents. Most recently, Mr. Knight served as secretary for catechetical formation and education, and superintendent of schools for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, Ohio. In this capacity, Mr. Knight directed a school system that has a day school enrollment of 45,919, ranked fifth among Catholic dioceses in the United States. Prior to this position, he served as the senior director of Catholic education and superintendent of schools for the Catholic Diocese of Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. Knight states, "St. John's Jesuit has been a major influence in my life since I first walked through its doors as a high school student. I am excited to have the opportunity to return to the SJJ community and contribute to the transformative work of providing a Jesuit education to young men throughout northwest Ohio. I look forward to being part of a vibrant community, immersed in Ignatian spirituality, where each student is inspired to reach his greatest potential.

It has been a blessing and a privilege to serve in the Diocese of Cleveland for the last two years alongside so many good, faith-filled colleagues in the ministry of Catholic Formation and Education, and all the Diocesan offices and ministries. Thank you to Bishop Richard Lennon, who hired me, our own Bishop Daniel Thomas, who generously served as Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Cleveland for nine months, and current Bishop Nelson Perez, who has brought a renewed spirit of joy, hope, and gratitude to the Diocese. I have enjoyed my time serving the people of God in the Diocese of Cleveland, but, now, it's time to come home -- Go Titans!"

A Toledo native and a product of Catholic primary and secondary schools, Mr. Knight earned his bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Toledo. He went on to obtain a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Dayton.

Mr. Knight has served on many boards, including the board of the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. In 2001, the organization recognized Mr. Knight for creating and implementing a project through which diocesan elementary and high schools collaborated on building a Habitat home in the Toledo area.

In a statement from President Savona, "I have admired Chris's leadership and vision for many years. His ability to work in collaboration with others is second to none, and I look forward, with great anticipation, to having Chris join our team."
